Atlas builds track record at electric power plants
Atlas Machine and Supply, Inc. has established a reputation of being among the nation’s best at completing complex on-site machining jobs for electric power plants.
Atlas recently completed field machining jobs for about a half dozen different power plants during a two month period. On two of those jobs, competitors had said the work couldn’t be done. Atlas’ skilled workers worked together to prove the doubters wrong by coming up with creative solutions to the power plants’ problems.
"We are really ramping up more demand for our field machining services by showing that Atlas can do a wide variety of the most challenging on-site work,” says Rich Gimmel, the company’s president.
An essential part of the company’s success with such jobs is teamwork. It’s not unusual to call on the expertise of a number of Atlas’ departments in order to get the job done. Those departments often involve: Engineering; Machine, Grind and Weld Shops; Transportation; Purchasing; and more.
“With demand for our on-site machining services increasing, our plans call for creating a special division for field machining in the near future,” says Gimmel.
