Atlas Machine offers a wide range of grinding specialties. From cylindrical to surface to super finishing, Atlas is your source for critical grinding needs.

Grinding processes are typically required where materials are to hard for machining processes or where a finer surface finish is specified for an application. By utilizing either carbide or diamond grinding wheel technology, we can finish grind nearly any material, including the carbide materials prevalent today.

Craftsmen who work in Atlas’ grind shop have literally decades of experience and are utilized exclusively for this critical area of our business.

Large surface grinding

Cylindrical grinding:

Capacity to 19 ft. between centers and 4 ft. diameter

Parabolic crown grinding

Super finishing:

Achieves finishes sub 2 Ra.

Surface grinding:

Capacity to 5 ft. X 12 ft.

Returning a surface to original finish specifications or finish grinding it after new metal has been applied requires skill and precision.
